As with many African-American organizations, this year's various Black History and Political events will hold greater significance. The hard work and dedication of the members of the Black El Paso Democrats (BEPD), has definitely paid off. Our nation's 1st Black President is a tremendous feat and members of the Democratic community, locally and abroad are excited to share and celebrate the victory.
BEPD Chairman Donald L. Williams and the entire organization of the BEPD, has worked effortlessly to assure that all El Paso citizens--from Republicans to Independents--recognize the possibility of change. During the now historic Clinton Obama bid for the White House, many of El Paso's Democratic leaders and citizens leaned toward Hilary citing experience, electability and popularity as the driving force behind their vote. This in no way distressed the committed efforts of El Paso's premiere Democratic organization, the Black El Paso Democrats.
Mr. Williams offered a very heartfelt invitation to all El Paso Democrats, Republicans and Independents by stating: "In the spirit of bipartisanship, cooperativeness and reconciliation espoused by our newly inaugurated President, Barack Obama, for the first time in its twenty-six (26) year history, the Black El Paso Democrats invite all Democrats, Republicans, Independents, supporters of President Barack Obama and all who favor positive "change that we can believe in" to our 26th Annual Political Awareness and Awards Banquet. The theme "A Celebration of New Beginnings" embraces a new attitude and respect for our fellow citizens and the government that was designed to serve us."
During this commemorative banquet, the BEPD intend to recognize all current political incumbents, newly elected officials, those who supported President Obama before his historic nomination and those who, in the spirit of "Unity", supported him afterwards. Recognition will also be given to our two Democratic and Republican representatives.
This is a historic event for El Paso. Don't hesitate in reserving your tables as soon as possible.
Tickets are $50 each
Tables of 10 $500
Century Club (Patron of Distinction Listing) $100.
After 26 years of "Promoting A Better Response to Public Needs", the BEPD are truly excited to be host to what some say is the most anticipated event of the year. The 26th Annual Political Awareness & Awards Banquet will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at the El Paso Wyndham Airport Hotel.
